" ictjob.lu, your partner in the recruitment of ICT professionals. "
ictjob tells us more on digitalization and recruitment.
As a jobboard specialized in the ICT sector, what do you think are the trends in this area?
Due to digitalization, the demand for ICT professionals has grown a lot the past years and will continue to do so. The events of the past months initially slowed down or paused the hiring in most companies, but this was only temporary. At the end of the summer, despite the ongoing crisis, most employers had already reopened their ICT vacancies. The required switch to remote work and related technological challenges once more proved how important it is to have the right people in-house. The shortage of qualitative IT profiles will only become a bigger challenge over the next years.
What is your vision about the HR environment and its future?
The matching between companies and candidates will become more and more digital, automated, with high efficiency. Job sites will be able to suggest candidates with a high likelihood to match your company. This means that time spent finding candidates will be reduced which will allow HR experts to focus on other tasks. However, the role of HR will remain crucial for in depth screening and hiring of the candidates.
What are the direct impacts of Covid 19 on your expertise and how have you overcome that?
During the second quarter of 2020 we faced an immediate recruitment stop for a lot of our customers. For those customers with expiring contracts in the 2nd and 3rd quarter the situation was difficult due to the uncertainty of the following months. We communicated openly with them, sharing information on the evolutions we noticed in the market and offered flexibility. By the end of the summer the market was restored, and we saw a lot of customers returning. On a positive note, covid-19 motivated more candidates to rethink their career which increased the quality of the profiles.
